T60RPmk2ai
RP Stereo HeadphonesHard maple housing dyed with Awa indigo and high-quality sound parts further enhance the appeal of the listening model, the domestically produced T60RPmk2ai
This product is equipped with Fostex's 4th generation RP driver, which has been evolving over 50 years since its birth, in a hard maple housing dyed by Awa Indigo craftsmen in Tokushima, and is equipped with 7N grade internal wiring material and optional Ultrasuede® earpads as standard. This is the first model in the T60RP series to be made in Japan, and each unit is carefully assembled at a factory in Japan, so you can enjoy the appeal of a listening model that weaves together traditional craftsmanship and acoustic technology. RP and RP Technology
RP and RP technology are Fostex's proprietary technologies that move the entire surface of the flat diaphragm in regular phase (Regular Phase) (Patent Pending: JP 2024-054367).

Features
The housing is made of solid natural wood.
Therefore, there may be differences in grain, bark, coloration, knots, etc. in each item, but this will not affect the sound quality.
Please be aware of this.
Hard maple solid wood housing jointly developed and finished with Awa Ai, a traditional Japanese dye called “Hon Ai
Each hard maple housing is carefully dyed with Awa Ai from Tokushima, developed in collaboration with skilled craftsmen, and finished in a deep indigo color that beautifully reveals the wood grain. Dyeing with “Hon Ai,” which is made exclusively from plant indigo, allows the hard maple’s hard and heavy specific gravity to be utilized without adding unnecessary color to the sound, and allows you to enjoy a firm, deep bass range and clear, extended treble range with no muddiness.
The same 7N grade high-purity OFC cables as those used in high-end models are used for the internal wiring material.
The same 7N (99.999999%) grade high-purity OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) cable, which is free from impurities to the utmost limit to enhance transmission capacity, is used for the internal wiring material to achieve high sound quality. The 2-pole 3.5 mm connectors on the left and right housings not only improve re-cabling compatibility, but also demonstrate the potential for high sound quality through re-cabling. The standard unbalanced cable uses a high-quality sound OFC conductor, and a φ4.4: ET-RP4.4BL2Y balanced cable (sold separately) is available.
Comfortable to use with Ultrasuede® earpads as standard equipment
The optional Ultrasuede® earpads by Toray Industries, Inc. are equipped as standard. These earpads are soft and comfortable to the touch, providing smooth, high-quality sound quality from low to high frequencies.
RP driver evolves to the 4th generation
The fourth generation of RP technology’s all-surface-driven planar diaphragm driver, which has been improved through 50 years of in-house technology, features an increased number of magnets that sandwich the diaphragm and a newly designed pattern shape of printed coils to expand the vibration area of the planar diaphragm and improve its uniformity. Furthermore, the components of the magnetic circuit have been redesigned to optimize the magnetic flux distribution, thereby suppressing unwanted resonance of the diaphragm and achieving a sharp response in the rise and fall of the sound. The fourth-generation driver, developed by fully introducing various technologies cultivated to date, simultaneously achieves improved sensitivity, smooth frequency response for easy monitoring, and excellent transient characteristics. The new driver enables accurate and subtle reproduction of low to high frequencies, resulting in a more accurate sense of localization and reproduction of the sound field. In addition, as in the past, the new product is manufactured as part of the company’s own production process to provide reliable quality.
<About dyeing with Awa Ai
Awa indigo from Tokushima has long been known throughout Japan as an indispensable dye for high-end dyeing because of its beautiful dyeing. However, it was difficult to dye wood using conventional methods, and a lot of trial and error went into adjusting the dye concentration, fermentation process, and soil preparation. During this process, changes in temperature and humidity affect the drying of the dye, and the conditions under which the fine color particles penetrate into the wood structure vary depending on the grain of each housing. The result is a housing with a deep blue hue unique to the Hon-Ai dye, while the smooth grain of the maple wood beautifully emerges, and the texture of each housing differs from left to right, creating a truly innovative color housing.
*The “Hon-Ai” housing dye is also used as part of the blue color in Hokusai Katsushika’s “Fugaku Sanjurokkei” (Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji).
